Electricity price increased by Rs 1.63 per unit across country

KARACHI: The price of electricity per unit has been increased for the entire country, including Karachi.

NEPRA has issued a notification regarding the increase in electricity prices under the fuel price adjustment, according to which electricity has increased by Rs 1.63 per unit.

According to the notification, electricity has been increased under the fuel price adjustment for January; the increase will be collected from electricity consumers in March bills.

The Nepra notification said that the increase will not apply to lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations.

Nepra had reserved its decision after the hearing on the January fuel price.
