ISLAMABAD: Former Corps Commander and Federal Minister Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Ali Chishti passed away on Monday at the age of 97 after a prolonged illness.
Chishti was undergoing treatment in the hospital due to heart and lung complications.
Lt Gen Chishti had served as a Corps Commander. After retirement from the armed forces, he also held the post of Federal Minister.
Recently, Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society President Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum also visited General Chishti in the hospital. Chishti had also served as the President of the Ex-Servicemen’s Society. Until his death, he was the current Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen’s Society.
His funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow at 3 pm in Rawalpindi where family, friends and colleagues will gather to perform his last rites.
