KHAIRPUR: Sindh police have arrested two individuals impersonating as a Fake major and his accomplice in the Faiz Ganj area of Khairpur district, according to media reports.
The suspect, dressed in an army uniform, has looted millions from the locals, calling himself an army major.
Local sources said that both individuals would stop vehicles and extort illegal payment of Rs 10,000 per car; they managed to extort millions of rupees from drivers and travelers in the area.
The suspects’ firearms were recovered by authorities during their arrest. Both have been arrested, and an investigation is underway to determine the full scope of their actions and whether anybody else was involved.
Residents thanked the police for their quick action and encouraged authorities to guarantee that individuals impersonating security personnel and looting the public face harsh penalties.
