SIRINAGAR: At least 10 explosions have been reported near Srinagar International Airport in Indian-administered Kashmir, according to local officials.
The blasts come amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with reports suggesting a suspected drone attack on the airport.
According to Indian media, the loud sound of the blasts alerted the local authorities, who then turned sirens on across the area and started to evacuate people from the area.
The authorities showcased immediate security responses, including air defence activation and enforced blackouts across vulnerable areas.
In Srinagar city, mosque loudspeakers were used to urge residents to switch off their lights and to remain at a safe place.
