Fake news: Field Marshal Asim Munir appointed as Chief of Defense Forces

ISLAMABAD: Recently, news started circulating on different social platforms that the Chief of Army Staff/Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has been appointed as Pakistan’s first-ever Chief of Defense Forces.

Social media users started posting appointment notifications all over their accounts; however, the authorities confirmed that the notification is fake and no such appointment has been made yet.

Upon verifying, it came to light that the notification had been altered and was not correct.
