ISLAMABAD: In a significant action against terrorism, the Pakistani government has officially labeled the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” according to a notification from the Ministry of Interior.
This decision is intended to expose the true nature and ideology of the terrorist group. The notification points out that the TTP has misrepresented Islam under the pretense of religion. It specifies that the term “Khariji” will be used alongside the names of these terrorists to reveal their true identity.
The notification underlines that the TTP has severely harmed Islam and that these extremists have no real interest in the religion. According to Islamic teachings, such corrupt elements are known as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The Ministry of Interior’s notification directs all government institutions to implement these directives without delay. It will also be distributed to all federal ministries, divisions, and departments under administrative control.
This action represents a notable change in the Pakistani government’s strategy for combating terrorism. By designating the TTP as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” the government seeks to delegitimize the group and reduce any potential support for their ideology.
