LAHORE: Flour prices have declined in Lahore following a reduction by private companies, offering some relief to consumers.
According to market sources, the price of a 5-kilogram flour bag has decreased by Rs70 to Rs100. The commodity is currently being sold at around Rs790 in departmental stores, while smaller shops are offering it at approximately Rs830 per 5kg bag.
However, the relief in flour prices has been offset by an increase in essential kitchen items. Prices of ghee and cooking oil have risen in the local market, with first-grade ghee being sold at Rs590 per kilogram and cooking oil at around Rs595 per kilogram.
Traders say fluctuations in supply and input costs continue to impact prices of essential commodities, keeping overall household expenses under pressure.
