ISLAMABAD: WhatsApp has started preparing to introduce a new paid subscription feature for users, which is called “WhatsApp Plus“. After this move, users are concerned about what facilities will be provided in exchange for this subscription.
According to Meta, this subscription will be completely optional and will not affect the basic features of the app. Users will still be able to benefit from free messaging, calling and privacy features.
According to initial information, “WhatsApp Plus” consists mostly of personalization features, including paid stickers, custom ringtones, themes, wallpapers and app icons. However, all these changes will be visible only to the user, not to other people chatting.
In addition, subscribers will also be given the opportunity to pin 20 chats, which will provide more flexibility than ordinary users.
WhatsApp Plus Subscription Price
The price of WhatsApp Plus is expected to be Rs 230 per month in Pakistan, which is lower than other regions, similar to subscription services like Spotify and Netflix. It is priced at 2.49 euros per month in Europe and 29 Mexican pesos per month in Mexico. However, no final announcement has been made about the price of this subscription yet.

The move comes at a time when Meta is experimenting with subscription models across its various apps. Earlier, experiments like “Instagram Plus” have also been done, and now WhatsApp has also joined the list.
According to statistics, the company generated revenue of about $60 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025 and more than $200 billion for the full year, and about 3.5 billion people use one of its apps every day.
