SIALKOT: At separate weddings in Sialkot and Narowal, friends of the groom showered local and foreign currency notes along with other gifts.
In Matranwali area of Sialkot, the groom’s friends opened a bag full of currency notes and showered dollars, pounds, euros and Pakistani rupees on the wedding. During the event, he also distributed mobile phones and clothes to the guests.
The groom Hamid from Sialkot received Rs.55 lakh as a gift from his friends and the wedding procession went from Matranwali, Daska to Gujranwala.
On the other hand, in Narowal too, notes and clothes were showered on the marriage procession of a broken woman. The groom’s friends and brothers threw suits and currency notes from the roof and children and adults used nets to catch the notes and suits.
