Foreign Minister Dar arrives in China for strategic dialogue

BEIJING: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing to co-chair the 5th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue on Monday, the Foreign Office (FO) said.

Upon his arrival, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar was received by Director General, Ambassador Wang Fu Kang, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.

Furthermore, the Foreign Office said, “The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will co-chair the Fifth Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-China relations.”

“The Deputy Prime Minister will also hold meetings with Chinese leaders and senior officials and with prominent business enterprises.”

Yesterday in a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson said, Ishaq Dar will visit Beijing, China from May 13 to 16.  “The two sides will comprehensively review Pakistan-China bilateral relations including economic and trade cooperation; high-level exchanges and visits; upgradation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and future connectivity initiatives,” it added.

The two leaders will also exchange views on the unfolding regional geopolitical landscape and bilateral cooperation at the multilateral forum.
