Foreign office issues fresh travel alert for Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria

ISLAMABAD: Amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, the government of Pakistan has issued a travel advisory for its citizens.

The government has urged to avoid non-essential travel to Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria as the regional tension is on the rise.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested Pakistani nationals currently living in these countries to remain extremely vigilant.

Additionally, Pakistani citizens were advised to restrict their mobility and refrain from any needless trips inside these areas.

The advisory especially advised residents to maintain close communication with the Pakistani embassies that are closest to them for support and the most recent information.

The decision was issued in escalating regional tensions that have impacted the security dynamics of numerous Middle Eastern countries, especially those involving Iran and Israel.

The advice is a preventative step to safeguard Pakistani citizens and guarantee their safety in the current unstable environment.

Earlier, Pakistan has expressed deep concern and serious reservations over the recent events in the brotherly country of Iran, and condemned Israeli aggression.

Addressing a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that Pakistan has long-standing, close and brotherly relations with Iran, and the current situation is being closely monitored.

Khan added that there is a long history of cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran at the global level, and Pakistan has never heard that Iran has talked about stopping any kind of cooperation with this organization.
