According to sources from the Meteorological Department and Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal is likely to be sighted on August 24. If this prediction proves correct, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal will be celebrated with religious devotion and respect across the country on Friday, September 5, and a public holiday will be declared on that day.
Immediately after this, an official holiday will also be given on the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day on September 6, when the entire nation will pay tribute to its martyrs and ghazis. After this, Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 will be regular holidays due to the weekend, thus, overall, the public will get a long break of four days.
According to sociologists, these consecutive holidays will prove to be a good opportunity for peace of mind and family bonding for the citizens. Such occasions have a positive impact on the social level and provide people with a time of peace away from their daily routines.
