Four killed in IED blast at KP’s Parachinar district

PARACHINAR: In a tragic event, at least four people have died and four others have been injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the Pewar area of Parachinar in Upper Kurram district, according to media reports.

Police and law enforcement agencies rushed to the area and initiated an inquiry into the incident, said the DPO Habibullah, confirming the casualties and injuries from the blast.

The deceased were identified as Nawab Ali, Amir Hussain, Hidayat Hussain, and Manzar Ali by the medical superintendent of DHQ Parachinar Hospital, Mir Hassan Jan.

The injured were identified as Muhammad Konain, Shafaat Hussain, and Hassan Ghulam, who were provided initial treatment and shifted to Peshawar for advanced medical care.

Hassan Ghulam, one of the injured victims, told the reporters that the explosion happened on the side of the road while they were going up a hill to get firewood.

“This is an extremely regrettable situation. “The terrorists ought to be apprehended and dealt with,” he added. In addition to his four associates, the explosion also killed two horses.
