BHALWAL: Four members of the family were found dead inside a car parked on the M-2 motorway near the Bhalwal area in the Sargodha District of Punjab.
According to rescue officials, the driver, identified as Umar Qasim was found unconscious and transferred to the nearby hospital.
The deceased including a man, two women, and a child were discovered dead in the car. They have been identified as 25-year-old Samar, 55-year-old Romila, 30-year-old Mehr, and six-year-old Aoun Ali and have been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhalwal, rescue officials said.
The ill-fated family was a resident of McLeod Road, Lahore, and was traveling from Lahore to Islamabad in car number LEF 7339.
After finding the car remained parked on the motorway for an extended period, the motorway police called Rescue 1122, who broke the car’s window to retrieve the bodies.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and the actual cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination.
