SKARDU: The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will be dissolved today after completing its 5-year term.
The Secretary of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly says that the third and final session of the 42nd session will be held at 2 pm today and the GB Assembly will be dissolved at 12 midnight tonight.
According to the Secretary of the GB Assembly, the current assembly came into existence after the elections of November 15, 2020, while the next elections will be held under the Federal Election Act 2017.
In this regard, sources say that the name of the caretaker Chief Minister in Gilgit-Baltistan is also likely to be announced today, which will be done by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
