GILGIT: The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has imposed an immediate ban on all government recruitments in view of the 2026 general elections.
The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has imposed an immediate ban on all types of recruitments in all government departments of Gilgit-Baltistan under Section 320 Clause 2 of the Election Act 2017 to make the conduct of the 2026 general elections transparent. A formal circular has been issued by the Services, General Administration and Cabinet Department in this regard.
According to the circular, this ban will be applicable to all stages of recruitment including advertisements for new vacancies, written examinations and interviews and will remain in force until the formation of the newly elected government.
The circular has clarified that action will be taken against those violating the issued instructions under the relevant laws.
