Rawalpindi: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza awarded civil awards to prominent scientists and engineers of strategic institutions for their outstanding services.
Gen Sahir presented the awards on behalf of the President of Pakistan at the investiture ceremony held at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.
A statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a total of 35 awardees were felicitated with the awards.
It said that 7 officers were awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 15 officers were awarded the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, and 13 officers were awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Chairman JCSC appreciated the services of scientists and engineers. We pay tribute to him as the unsung hero of the nation, he said.
