ISLAMABAD: Amid the recent hike in petrol and global oil prices, the government of Pakistan is reportedly considering imposing a nationwide smart lockdown due to the worsening petrol situation in the country, according to some reports.

According to sources, the ongoing fuel shortage and rising petrol prices have severely disrupted transportation and daily life. Authorities are reviewing possible measures to control the situation, including restricting movement to reduce fuel consumption.

Officials say a final decision will be made after consultations with relevant departments. If approved, the lockdown could impact businesses, public transport, and routine activities across the country.
