KARACHI: The district administration has declared a local holiday in Jamshoro on Saturday, February 7, 2025. The event marks the 774th annual Urs observance of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA).

The Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Jamshoro Public Holiday Official Notification states that the holiday will be observed within the limits of the Jamshoro district only.

The district will observe a complete holiday because all public offices and institutions will remain closed throughout the day. The notification states that the holiday falls on the 18th of Shaban 1447 Hijri, which happens to be the date of the annual Urs celebrations.

The move establishes a dedicated area for devotees while maintaining the proper operational procedures during the religious event.

The order received official approval through the official power of Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, who signed as Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro and District Ushr Committee Chairman.

Every year, thousands of devotees attend the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, who is one of the most respected Sufi saints throughout South Asia.

The celebrations include prayers, gatherings, and traditional rituals. Local authorities have advised citizens to plan their activities accordingly, as government operations will return to their normal schedule following the holiday.
