KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared two public holidays on September 5 and 6 in accordance with Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
All government offices and educational institutions throughout the province will be closed on these two days, as per a notification.
Yesterday, the federal government made September 6 (Saturday) a public holiday on the eve of 12th Rabi ul Awal on the observance of Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH).
Last week, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, had announced the date after the Rabi ul Awal moon could not be sighted.
Maulana Azad informed journalists that no reliable moon sighting reports from all over the country were received, further stating that cloudy weather was reported in most areas.

Karachi Traffic Police has prohibited heavy traffic in the city on Rabi ul Awal 11 and 12 due to different processions and activities.
