NANKANA SAHIB: The Nankana Sahib district is gearing up to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, from November 13 to 16.
To mark this significant occasion, Deputy Commissioner Taslim Akhtar Rao has declared November 15 a public holiday across the district.
This celebration is expected to draw thousands of Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan and around the world to Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak.
To ensure a safe and smooth experience for all attendees, especially foreign visitors, the district administration has coordinated with relevant authorities.
Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal recently visited Nankana Sahib to review security preparations.
They inspected key entry and exit points, provided directives to enhance security, and received briefings from Deputy Commissioner Tasleem Akhtar Rao and District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas on security arrangements.
