Govt to celebrate Youm-i-Tameer-o-Taraqi on Feb 8th amid one year completion

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar has  announced that February 08,2025 would be celebrated as  Youm-i-Tameer-o-Taraqi”  in English referred as Day of Development and Progress as government completes its first  year in power.

 Youm-i-Tameer-o-Taraqi will be celebrated on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noting the key success achieved by the government in the past year.

Tarar mentioned that the steps taken by the government restored the confidence of the international institutions, as after 27  years Pakistan successfully hosted Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Additionally, he acknowledged the efforts put by the government had team members for the betterment of Pakistan, token of high level appreciation will also be given to the achievers on February 08,2025 he added.

He was also optimistic regarding the positive result of the negotiations that were underway between the government and the opposition party for saving political stability in the country. 

He also rejected all the rumors of financial crises in PTV, assuring revival of the national television to its past glory by inducting anchors from the private sector and providing equal representation to all the political parties in the talk shows.

Furthermore, Tarar stressed the importance of the ongoing and upcoming sports events in country. He credited the back-to-back win of the Pakistan cricket team to the seriousness of the government and said that the country will host the International Champions Trophy after a gap.

This will help the country regain its cricketing festivity and promote the game in Pakistan, where cricket fans will have the chance to watch international players play on Pakistani grounds. 

Moreover, he appreciated the role that Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi plays in negotiating with International Cricket Council to ensure the hosting of a mega tournament in the country.
