Hajj 2025: Second phase of flight operation begins

ISLAMABAD: Upon the completion of the first phase of the Hajj flight operation, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf received 305 pilgrims under the government-sponsored scheme started on Thursday.

Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro, Chief Coordinator Hajj Operations Dr. Mirza Ali Mehsud, Director Makkah Azizullah Khan, Consul General Khalid Majeed, and Saudi officials were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the commencement of the second phase of Hajj flights from Pakistan, with the first group of Pakistani Hajj pilgrims departing for Jeddah via various airports in Pakistan.

From today, the pilgrims will land at Jeddah Airport, then travel directly to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for Hajj. On the first day of the second phase, flight operations will have 2 flights with 633 Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Jeddah.

The second phase will continue from the conclusion of phase one of the Hajj departures. On the last day of the first phase, 13 flights operated with 2,399 pilgrims departing to Madinah.

In total, 145 flights overall were operated during the first phase of the Hajj departures, and a total of 31,044 Pakistani pilgrims were flown to Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
