ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony confirmed the full restoration of Pakistan’s airspace for all types of flights on Saturday, allowing Hajj operations to resume as scheduled.
As per the media reports, ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt said that after the temporary suspension of flight operations due to recent security concerns, all Hajj flights will now depart for Saudi Arabia as per their original itinerary.
The spokesperson said that a total of 10 Hajj flights were cancelled due to the intermittent suspension of flights. He added that these included three from Lahore, two from Islamabad and one each from Karachi and Multan. As a result of these cancellations, he said, 2,290 pilgrims have been affected, however, 1,277 pilgrims have already been accommodated and flown out through special flights.
Umar Butt said that efforts are currently underway to ensure that the remaining 1,013 pilgrims are also transported to Saudi Arabia as soon as possible through additional special flight arrangements. He added that a total of 19,669 Pakistani pilgrims have successfully reached Saudi Arabia under Hajj Operation 2025 so far.
The spokesperson advised all Hajj pilgrims to stay in touch with their respective Hajj camps for the latest updates and flight information.
