KARACHI: To ease the process for Hajj travelers, the Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, has said that there will be special counters for quick passport services.

These special desks shall also be placed in the regional and head offices as well as at passport offices in all countries. Such offices will also make provision for customers on a priority for such pilgrims in such a way that they collect their passports within 24 hours of application.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has been making moves to request for less flight costs for the Hajj pilgrims projected for the year 2025 and this has come to pass.

Every pilgrim will now have a fare of $ 50 less than what they paid last year basing the fare on 850 dollars, the price gets reduced to 800 dollars.

This airfare is less than last year’s pricing because a new agreement with Pakistan International Airlines Airlines concerning 35,000 kaipan pilgrims has been made. As well 35, 000 pilgrims will be sent to the Holy Places by Saudi Airlines also.

The reduction in airfare is a positive development, especially within the context of the high cost of traveling and accommodation in the last few years. Many a time, an average pilgrim has been bearing the brunt of the increasing prices in doing the pilgrimage and this move is hoped to relieve them.

The work of the Ministry to improve the welfare of the citizens of Pakistan by lowering the Hajj expenses as much as possible is commendable.
