The Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world is celebrating the main event of their religious festival, Holi, here on Friday. According to Hindu faith, Holi is a popular and significant Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colours, Love, and Spring.

To facilitate the Hindu community in Pakistan, the Sindh government has announced a two-day holiday for the Hindu employees so that they may participate in the festivities uninhibited by the demands of work.

The festival, representing the onset of spring, was marked with pomp and colour as community members threw colours on each other. Colorful events were organized in the various localities and temples at Sukkur with active devotion from women and children.

Over 50 families gathered at Krishna Temple, Saddar, Rawalpindi, where Priest Jai Ram led rituals of Choti Holi. Beginning with prayers for Krishna, Ram, Durga, and Hanuman, the distribution of sweets and fruits followed as young and old splashed colors with joy.

Before the function, the Hindu community prayed for the prosperity of the country and hoped so via the auspiciousness of the festival for peace, harmony, and brotherhood.

PM’s Message

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his best wishes to the Hindu community, stating that it commemorates the arrival of spring: a festival of love and the battle of good and evil.

He emphasized growing diversity and inclusion to build a stronger and united nation while wishing them happiness, health, success, and peace.
