ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has released a procedure for parents/legally appointed guardians to request juvenile cards on behalf of children under the age of 18.

As per NADRA, this process allows parents or legal guardians to get an identification card for their kids by fulfilling some required processes at a NADRA registration centre.

To request a Juvenile Card, you have to register your child first at NADRA, and once the registration gets complete, you will receive a token to further process your application.

The NADRA staff at the counter will capture your child’s photograph and fingerprints as well. So you have to make sure that the parent/legal guardian, along with their child, has to perform a mandatory biometric verification on their part.

Once all of these are done, they will carry out the data entry process followed by verification of your application by an approval officer.

Juvenile Registration

Upon completion of all the mentioned stages, the applicant shall pay the required amount via an online payment process, after which NADRA will issue his/her Juvenile Card within the given delivery period.

NADRA also highlighted its fee structure and timeframes to deliver Juvenile Cards. According to them, applicants who opt for “normal service” have to pay a service charge of Rs. 750/- along with getting their cards delivered within 31 Days from their application date.

On the other hand, those availing themselves of the “urgent service” option would have to shell out Rs. 1,500/- while receiving the card within 23 Days.

Finally, “executive services”, however, require only Rs. 2500/- but they guarantee quicker turnaround times of just 9 Days from your application date.

As NADRA told us, you’ll need to submit an application on your child’s behalf — this could either be done by the father, mother or their legal guardian. But if you’re submitting an application as the mother/legal guardian, then one of these two has to be present at all times when doing so.

You’ll also need to provide your parents’ fingerprints, mobile number, email address and details of your computerized birth certificate.
