ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court orders the removal of the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (r) Hafeez-ur-Rehman, from office.
The IHC accepts a petition to remove Chairman PTA from office on Tuesday.
Chairman of the PTA should be removed from office immediately, as the appointment of the Chairman of the PTA is not legally valid.
A senior member of PTA should be appointed as the Chairman of PTA temporarily, the court order said.
Islamabad High Court Justice Babar Sattar reserved the decision and issued a 99-page written decision today.
