ISLAMABAD: The objections of the Registrar Office of the Islamabad High Court on the request of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi to meet the founder of PTI in jail have been removed.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court heard the objections of the Registrar Office. The court issued notices to the Secretary Home, Secretary Home Department Punjab, IG Police and Superintendent Adiala Jail for October 23.

Chief Minister KP Sohail Afridi’s lawyer Ali Bukhari Advocate said that the Registrar Office has raised several objections on the petition of the Chief Minister KP to meet the founder of PTI in jail.

There is an objection that a court decision has already been made in this regard, there is also an objection that how can Sohail Afridi file an application without the decision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the provincial cabinet? This objection does not arise because the cabinet has not been formed yet.

The court dismissed the objections of the Registrar’s Office and issued notices to the parties. It should be noted that the Registrar’s Office had raised several objections to the request for a prison meeting with the founder of PTI.

The objections raised by the Registrar’s Office stated that the court had already given a decision by combining the petitions filed regarding meetings with the founder of PTI in prison. The procedure and SOP for meeting the founder of PTI have been fixed in the court decision.

The Registrar’s Office had said that the office holders of PTI have the authority to prepare a list of those who meet the founder of PTI weekly, the relevant office holders of PTI were not made parties in the case.
