Illegal weapons seized during crackdown

SHEIKHUPURA: Conducting a crackdown against illegal weapons, district police seized 40 Kalashnikovs, 5 guns, 20 rifles, 13 pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during the past two weeks.

Speaking at a press conference, DPO Sheikhupura Ghazi Muhammad Salauddin said that during a crackdown against criminals, police arrested 85 members of 15 dacoit gangs and recovered stolen items worth millions including jewellery, cash, cars, motorcycles, mobile phones, laptops and other goods.

He added officials also apprehended 113 dangerous criminals and 303 category B offenders during the two-week operation.

Officials also arrested 110 drug dealers and confiscated 71 kilogrammes of hashish, 12 kilogrammes of opium, 1,700 litres of liquor and 2,800 drums of moonshine. Further, 304 individuals have been arrested for kite flying while 5,564 kites and 394 spools of string were seized from their possession.
