Illegal Wildlife smuggling foiled at Islamabad Airport

ISLAMABAD: Acting on intelligence inputs, the Wildlife and Customs Department launched a major operation against illegal wildlife smuggling and foiled an attempt by a foreign national to smuggle rare eggs at the Islamabad airport.

According to sources, rare eggs were recovered from the luggage of a Chinese passenger going from Islamabad to Bangkok.

The value of the smuggled rare eggs is estimated to be in crores. Orders have been given to transfer the exported rare eggs to the Lahore Safari Zoo. The process of caring for and hatching the eggs has started. After registering an FIR against the accused, legal action is underway.
