Imran Khan, Arif Alvi to be tried under ‘Article 6’?

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced the federal government’s decision to move a treason case ragainst former Prime Minster Imran Khan under Article 6 of the Constitution.

While addressing the press conference, he said that the former PTI government had dissolved the National Assembly unconstitutionally during the no-confidence motion against Khan, therefore a reference under Article 6 of the Constitution will also be filed against former president Arif Alvi and former Deputy Speaker NA Qasim Suri.

“The reference, under Article 6, will be sent to the Supreme Court of Pakistan after the cabinet’s approval,” he added.
