India’s running terrorism in region, hides behind fake narrative: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Spokesperson, Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif has said India is running a terrorism in this region.

In an exclusive interview with RT Arabia, DG ISPR made these comments, saying that to understand the Indo–Pak tension, you have to go into the background of the matter.

“India is hiding behind a fake narrative to cover up the truth,“ he said, adding that the Indian media started blaming Pakistan within a few minutes of the Pahalgam incident.

“The Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said two days later that the investigation is still going on,“ DG ISPR said. It does not make sense to raise allegations without investigation and evidence, he said, adding that the evidence of the Pahalgam incident should be given to an independent agency.

“We are ready to cooperate, but India unilaterally acted and fired missiles at our mosques. Children, women, and elderly people were martyred in the Indian attack,“ he added.

“India is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan, whether it is Khawarij or terrorist groups active in Balochistan,“ said Ahmed Sharif.

DG ISPR mentioned to RT Arabia that India had attacked on the night of May 6 and 7, and that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had shot down five Indian aircraft.

“The nation and the Pakistani forces faced India like an iron wall. The enemy has fired more missiles on the night of May 9 and 10 to scare us. They forget that the nation of Pakistan and its forces never bow down and cannot be made to bow down,” he said.

“On May 10, Pakistan very responsibly and carefully attacked only Indian military targets,” DG ISPR said, “Not a single civilian target was struck. This was an appropriate, fair, and balanced response.”

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif also reiterated that it was the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Defense himself who came to ask for a ceasefire. “We want peace and stability, and so we thought, why not.

Pakistan has also done amazing work on the diplomacy front, and they have engaged the international community. We are not a violent nation, but we are a serious nation. Pakistan’s priority is peace,” he said.
