DHELI: Indian travel blogger Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by Haryana Police on Saturday for allegedly spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies during Operation Sindoor, according to Indian media sources.
Jyoti was arrested from the New Aggarwal Extension area, in Hisar. Known for her YouTube channel, “Travel with Jo,“ she has 3.77 lakh subscribers and over 1.32 lakh followers on Instagram.
Jyoti has travelled to Pakistan three times, as well as uploaded videos of her visit to her YouTube channel and Instagram page.
The police registered a case against her under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
After her confession, she was sent to police custody for 5 days. According to the FIR, she was in continuous contact with officials from the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi and sharing “sensitive information“ with them.
Additionally, she was constantly communicating with her Pakistan handlers through social media applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat.
