Pakistan Muslim League (N) president and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Senator Ishaq Dar as the chairman of the party’s election cell. In this regard, Secretary General of the party Ahsan Iqbal also issued a notification.
On the other hand, former Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said on the social media website X (formerly Twitter) that making Ishaq Dar the head of the election cell will speed up the election-related activities of Muslim League (N).

They further said that all related matters including receipt of applications for party tickets, monitoring of election rules will be completed expeditiously.
It should be noted that Ishaq Dar was also the head of the parliamentary committee that prepared the Election Act 2017 approved by the Parliament.
