ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police issued a revised traffic advisory aimed at ensuring road safety and smooth movement of people across the federal capital.
The spokesman for Islamabad Police, along with the Chief Traffic Officer, has listed strict rules related to heavy traffic public transport, and general road users.
The new instructions are meant for reducing congestion, preventing accidents, and maintaining order on major routes of the city.
According to the advisory, heavy traffic will only be allowed to enter Islamabad from midnight to five in the morning. Entry during daytime hours will remain completely restricted. The police say the step will help reduce pressure on main highways and ensure safer driving conditions for commuters.
Meetings will also be held with truck owners and managers of goods transport vehicles. The police have instructed that all loaded vehicles must unload their goods only at approved locations. This measure is to stop roadside unloading, which often creates blocks and safety hazards in traffic.
