Islamabad is placed 93rd out of 380 cities worldwide in the World Safety Index, according to the Numbeo survey. Islamabad has a safety index score of 67.9, placing it as the 93rd safest city out of 380 cities worldwide, according to Numbeo’s World Safety Index study.
London is rated 270th with a safety index of 45.8, Paris is ranked 303rd with a safety index of 41.9, Berlin is ranked 187th with a score of 55.3, Moscow is ranked 118th with a score of 64.6, and Lahore is ranked 130th with a score of 63.1.

Islamabad Police accomplished great success and brought about a discernible drop in the crime rate in 2024 and 2025 under the dynamic leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

Senior police officers visited schools as part of this initiative to inform pupils about the negative effects of drugs and how they affect society, especially young people.
Additionally, a massive crackdown against drug dealers and those who assist them was conducted, leading to numerous arrests and significant drug seizures.
In addition, a special crackdown was initiated to remove illicit weapons from the federal capital.
While unlawful weapons and ammunition were retrieved and the appropriate legal procedures were started, the accused who had firearms were taken into custody.
Likewise, the Islamabad Police protected VIPs and VVIPs both domestically and abroad in 2025.
