ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has approved the consultancy services for a theme park, a Ferris wheel, and a cable car, which is a significant advance for Islamabad‘s recreational tourism infrastructure.
The Development Working Party, CDA, approved PC-II level consultancy services in its 75th meeting on Tuesday. The consultancy reports will include construction budget estimates, a feasibility study, and design work for all three, with estimated prices of:
Theme Park – approved feasibility and design services for Rs. 206 million, Ferris Wheel – approved feasibility and design services for Rs. 61.8 million, Cable Car – approved consultancy services for an estimate of Rs. 197.76 million.
Officials noted that Islamabad, with a current population of two million people, is experiencing a growing demand for recreational and entertainment facilities.
With a domestic and international reputation for tourism, the city is primed to accommodate such initiatives. The consultancy reports should be completed within six months, after which the city and the CDA will determine whether to proceed with the construction of these projects.
