ISLAMABAD: Bushfire has engulfed a large part of Margalla Hills National Park, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said on Monday.

CDA teams have reached the spot and are working diligently to douse the fire, the capital authority said in a statement.

More than 75 firefighters from the Capital Development Authority are busy dousing and dousing the fire. Gusty winds that started burning in the Margalla Hills Saidpur Village range at 11 a.m. make it difficult to control the fire.

CDA said that more teams of fire fighters have been sent to douse the fire as soon as possible.

To prevent forest fires, the forest department has officially declared a ‘fire season’ in Rawalpindi division and canceled the leaves of field staff.
