Islamabad ASI suspended after video of torturing in police mobile goes viral

ISLAMABAD:  DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari suspended ASI Muhammad Farooq over the incident of torturing the accused in the police van.

Earlier, DIG Operations took notice of the case after the video of Islamabad police personnel brutally beating the suspect went viral on social media.

According to the details, ASI Muhammad Farooq arrested two suspects for stealing mobile phones from Sector I8 of the federal capital. Instead of taking the arrested thieves to the police station, Islamabad cops started the investigation in the police van and allegedly tortured them.

After the incident came to light, DIG Operations Shehzad Nadeem took strict notice of the incident and suspended ASI Farooq for exceeding his power.
