Islamabad changes school timings for summer season again?

ISLAMABAD: A notification circulating shows that the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has issued revised school timings in the wake of scorching heat in Islamabad.

As per the notification, due to the increase in heat intensity, the timings of schools in the federal capital, Islamabad, have been changed once again. However, government officials haven’t confirmed the development yet.

The Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department issued the cited notification circulating on social media.

The notification reads, “According to official sources, due to severe weather conditions, the working hours of the educational institutions managed by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have been changed again from Monday, May 27, 2024.”

As per the notification circulating, from Monday to Friday, the working hours of schools will be from 7:30 am to 11:30 a.m. “Due to the reduction of the daily period of study, the daily assembly and sports period currently held in schools will not happen,” it added.

Earlier, school timings were changed in the federal capital, Islamabad, from May 20 due to heat.

The Federal Directorate of Education has not yet clarified the circulating notification regarding revised summer school timings in Islamabad.
