ISLAMABAD: In a daring heist outside a private bank in Islamabad’s Shehzad Town, the robbers took away Rs 30 million in cash on Tuesday. The incident took place when a cash van was transferring funds outside the bank.
As per the media reports, the cash van was standing outside the bank when unknown robbers approached and snatched two cash bags containing huge amount of money and fled. The robbers allegedly opened fire during the robbery, injuring two security guards, Tariq and Salman. Evidence recovered from the crime scene included 10 bullet casings.
The dacoits escaped from the spot and went towards Nilore area. Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the culprits and recover the stolen funds. The incident has raised concerns about security measures around financial institutions in the region.
