ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court heard the assault case, here on Tuesday.
As per the details, Additional Sessions Judge Adnan Rasool granted Jamal Khan bail on a bond of Rs 10,000.
The bail was granted on the basis of an agreement between the parties. Jamal’s post-arrest bail was earlier rejected. A case was registered against him at Margalla Police Station.
Two days ago, a video surfaced showing women being attacked near a well-known food chain in F-9 Park. The accused were seen dragging the women by their hair on the road.
According to the FIR, the main accused Jamal along with his accomplices allegedly tortured the women on February 23, looted 10 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 2 million in cash from them.
An Islamabad Police spokesperson said that the incident took place on February 23, and an FIR was registered. The accused was arrested and sent to jail on a three-day physical remand, after which the police recovered the stolen goods.
The women later reconciled with Jamal and testified that he was innocent. The court’s written decision confirmed that the complainant and the witnesses called it a misunderstanding and showed no interest in pursuing the case.
