ISLAMABAD: A senior official has warned that Pakistani nationals traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will have to follow local laws and visa regulations. He added that failure to comply could result in being barred from leaving the country.

As per the details, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai Hussain Muhammad said that checking of visitors will be done at Pakistani airports. If they do not meet requirements such as hotel reservations, sufficient funds, and return tickets, they may be prevented from departing.

According to travel industry experts, tourists coming to the UAE on a visit visa must have a minimum of Dh3,000, a return ticket and proof of either hotel accommodation or accommodation with a family member.

Failure to meet these requirements can result in denial of entry and deportation back to their country of origin. Hussain Mohammad advised the 1.7 million Pakistanis living in the UAE to abide by local laws and customs and play a positive role in society.

He added that UAE laws are strictly enforced, and violators can face fines or prison terms for violations.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, Mohammad highlighted that the FIA and airport authorities in Pakistan are addressing the visa issue, and those who do not meet the requirements will be stopped at the airport.

Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, also advised Pakistanis coming on tourist visas to follow the rules, including a return ticket, Dh3,000 funds and hotel accommodation. Tirmizi said that tourists should focus on sightseeing during tourist visas and not on job hunting.
