RAWALPINDI: The authorities at the Rawalpindi Railway station have established an information desk to assist relatives of passengers who were on board the Jaffar Express when it was attacked by terrorists.
The train, which was taking over 400 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by a group of terrorists, with officials of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claiming responsibility for the heinous act.
Now, for more than 17 hours after the attack, the security operation is still going on. According to military officials, 155 passengers have been rescued, while 27 terrorists have been killed. However, there is no authentic information on the whereabouts of the rest.
An interactive information desk at the Rawalpindi Railway station is in contact with the stations at Peshawar and Quetta to provide travel details for the passengers.
Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express service will remain suspended for three days from March 12 to 14, due to law-and-order reasons.
