LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman announced to launch a nationwide public movement in the next few days against inflation, electricity and petrol price hike.
Addressing party leaders across the country online from Jamaat-e-Islami’s headquarters in Mansoura, Lahore, Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that they want a change in the system with the support of the people and will continue their struggle to solve public problems.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman directed the party leaders and workers to further accelerate the membership drive for the next 10 days and achieve the set goals.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in any conspiracy, secret agreement or undemocratic means of gaining power, but rather wants change through the support of the people and democratic processes. No revolution that comes without public opinion can be sustainable.
Stressing the need to convey Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance on inflation, electricity and petrol prices to the public, he said that the party’s message should be widely disseminated through social media and WhatsApp groups. Jamaat-e-Islami is an effective voice on public issues and the role of workers is key in conveying this voice to the public.
