ISLAMABAD: In another remarkable achievement, construction of the underpass at Jinnah Avenue F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange is nearing completion, as 75 percent of the work has already been completed.
The project is expected to be completed within the record time of 42 days, given the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and is to be opened on December 25.
Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa paid a surprise visit to the project site, where he expressed satisfaction with both the pace of work and quality of construction.
“We are committed to completing this job in record time by simultaneously proceeding with the works on both the flyover and the underpass in order to finish this project on time,” insisted Chairman Randhawa.
Project officials briefed Chairman Randhawa about several milestones achieved on the visit, including that construction of 70 out of the remaining 74 piles for the interchange has been completed.
The girders for an underpass are at the end of their process; concreting is likely to finish in a couple of days. So massive progress has been made on all fronts, that the Jinnah Avenue Interchange might just emerge as a monument of urban efficiency and innovations in infrastructure development.
