ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has again summoned 16 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) functionaries, including leaders Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan, to appear before the JIT on March 18 concerning allegations of anti-state propaganda spread on social media.

The JIT is investigating this case based on evidence about the alleged anti-state propaganda. Other personalities, including Barrister Gohar, Rauf Hassan, and Shah Farman, have already presented themselves before the JIT.

Aleema Khanum, the sister of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, failed to appear on March 14 and has been issued another notice to appear on March 19.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif recently criticized PTI for creating negative propaganda regarding the Jaffar Express incident, where terrorists attacked a train in Balochistan.

Asif accused PTI of being terrorist apologists, sparking protests from opposition members in the National Assembly.

Khawaja Asif aimed General (retired) Faiz Hameed and previous COAS General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, accusing them of encouraging the return of militants.

“People who grew up during martial law now doubt the sacrifices made by our military.”He chastised PTI members for their current fear of speaking up against terrorism.

Khawaja Asif further charged the PTI with disdaining the martyrs and altering their political position for their benefit. He reminded the crowd that the ruling party had expressed regret for its previous transgressions, but PTI was still acting unfairly.
