ISLAMABAD: In devastating news, the mother of the renowned late and martyred journalist Arshad Sharif passed away in Islamabad.

Arshad Shareef’s wife, Javeria Siddique, in her X post confirmed the tragic news.

Family sources said that details regarding her funeral prayer will be offered at 9 pm today, whereas her burial will be done at the H-11 Graveyard in Islamabad.

The veteran journalist and News anchor was murdered in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on October 23, 2022, where he was residing in self-exile.

Kenyan police initially stated that Arshad Sharif was murdered in an incident of “mistaken identity,” but since the veteran journalist’s post-mortem and his body’s repatriation to his native country, several Kenyan media outlets have not only challenged the police’s actions but also queried the way in which he was murdered.
