Justice Aminuddin tipped to lead Federal Constitutional Court

ISLAMABAD: Justice Aminuddin is likely to be appointed as the head of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).

A notification in this regard is likely to be issued today.

Justice Aminuddin is currently the head of the constitutional bench, and he is retiring at the end of this month.

The Other Judges of the FCC may include Justice Aamir Farooq, Justice Ali Baqir Najfi, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Chief Justice Baliochistan High Court Rozi Khan, and Justice K.K. Agha from Sindh High Court, according to sources.

According to sources, a dinner has been organized in honor of Justice Aminuddin by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.

The dinner in honor of Justice Aminuddin will be held at the Chief Justice’s House tomorrow.

According to sources, Supreme Court judges have also been invited to the dinner. Justice Aminuddin is scheduled to retire from office on November 30.

It should be noted that the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill has been passed by both houses and after the President’s signature, this bill has now become part of the Constitution.

Under the amendment to Article 176, the current Chief Justice will be called the Chief Justice of Pakistan until the completion of his term.

Article 255 Clause 2 has been amended, which deals with the appointment of the Chief Justice of Pakistan after the current term.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court shall be the senior-most Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Under the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the President shall appoint the judges of the Federal Constitutional Court on the advice of the Prime Minister.
